How Two Recovering Addicts and a Trauma Therapist Came Together to Offer Hope to Others

Aaron Estrada, a certified drug and alcohol counselor and anger management specialist, is a native of Northern California. In 2011, he was presented with two options – he could either serve five years in prison for criminal offenses he committed while under the influence of drugs and alcohol, or he could go to rehab for ninety days to finally confront his demons. He chose the latter and gained a new lease on life as a result, which in turn enabled him to help hundreds of other addicts through his example.

He was a high-profile, professional skier who broke world records before alcoholism sent him down the slopes of destruction.

She was the daughter of a wealthy businessman who found herself featured on the eleventh season of the award-winning docuseries Intervention due to her opiate addiction.

Combined with, Julianne Piascik, a sought-after trauma therapist from Orange County, they are the proud owners of Restoration Recovery Center, a brand-new state-licensed substance abuse treatment center in the heart of Auburn, CA.

Upon the successful completion of his inpatient program, Aaron committed to a continuum of care that included outpatient treatment to maximize his chances of maintaining continuous sobriety. His decision to extend his stay proved to be so successful that he decided to enter the field of substance abuse in a professional capacity so as to give back to others the same encouragement and expertise he had received as a client. His passion for service resulted in a management position at one of the most prestigious treatment centers in Orange County, CA, where he served as clinical director for five years before ultimately making the decision to open his own facility.

Zeinah Estrada (née Gollsneider) was born and raised in Bradenton, FL as a self-described “silver spoon baby” who never wanted for anything. She enjoyed a childhood that celebrated her academic prowess and immense popularity as a mathematical prodigy and co-captain of the cheerleading squad. That all changed, however, when she began to experiment with alcohol and “club drugs” (ecstasy and cocaine) as an adolescent.

For a while, she was able to tow the line between being a responsible student and a “weekend warrior,” but that all changed when she discovered the world of opiates. Her antics were so horrifying that her mother filmed her while in the midst of a drug-induced black-out and submitted the video to A&E in a desperate attempt to secure her a spot on the award-winning docuseries Intervention. Miraculously, her strategy worked, and Zeinah ultimately found herself as a client of “Hope by the Sea,” which is when she and Aaron’s paths intertwined. They were married three years later and became the parents of a beautiful baby girl in 2016.

Julianne Piascik, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, is state certified as a California Association of Alcohol and Drug Chemical Dependency Counselor. Julianne has been working in the mental health field since 2006. She specializes in co-occurring disorders and has experience working with children, families, and individuals suffering from substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions. Julianne is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Her commitment to her clients is evident in her work, as she goes above and beyond to ensure the quality of care her clients receive. She particularly enjoys helping clients identify and change old behavior patterns to implement healthy change and create a solid base to continue successfully into their future while learning to love themselves. Julianne offers insight that reaches her clients even in the depths of their struggles. She facilitates individual, couples and family therapy sessions.

Together, Julianne, Aaron and Zeinah Estrada bring a wealth of personal and professional experience that makes them a force to be reckoned in the behavioral health field. As the founders of Restoration Recovery Center, Julianne LMFT is the clinical director as well as trauma therapist, Aaron oversees the program’s day-to-day operations, and Zeinah coordinates the admissions of all incoming clients. They specialize in mental health as well as chemical dependency so as to address the full range of co-occurring issues with which most alcoholics and addicts struggle.  Dr. Marco M. Zahedi and Julianne Piascik, LMFT, round out the treatment team by offering medication management and individualized treatment plans, respectively.

May 1, 2018 marks the grand opening of the dual-diagnosis treatment center which proudly accepts most private insurance policies and offers affordable self-pay options for services. RRC also offers an extensive continuum of care including intensive outpatient treatment, individual therapy, and sober living accommodations. Their hours of operation are from 9:30 am – 9pm Monday through Saturday, and you can expect to hear Zeinah’s reassuring voice on the other end of the line when you make the decision to reach out for help, or simply general information. She is there to walk you step-by-step through the process of admission, and to guide you or your loved one toward the path of healing.
